The problem does not arrive all at once: it arrives when two people need to edit the same file at the same time, when nobody knows which version is the right one, when the physical count does not match what is on the screen and nobody can say since when.
Then come the other six: the history nobody keeps, the tax invoice issued on a separate portal that never speaks to the recorded sale, the consignment tracked in a notebook because it did not fit the spreadsheet, the report that eats up a whole Sunday, the phone that will not open the file properly and the backup that was supposed to exist. None of them alone justifies a system; the six together cost more than one does, every month, in time nobody counts.

Every system is quoted individually, after requirements gathering, because promising a number before understanding your operation would be dishonest. The ranges below show how we think about complexity. For market reference: companies specialized in ERP charge from R$ 40,000 for a system of medium complexity.

A system with 3 to 5 modules, no external integrations, a database that gets straight to the point.
Medium
A system with 6 to 10 modules, one or two external integrations and a more robust relational database.

The start, at home
A thrift store that controlled everything by hand, in notebooks. The first system eliminated the notebooks and gave the owner her weekends back.

The business moved from home to a shop. We rebuilt the system in Angular and PostgreSQL, with real modules for clients, inventory, sales and consignment.

What people ask before switching systems
How much does a custom management system cost?
It depends on the number of modules, the integrations and how many exceptions your operation has, which is why we do not publish a fixed figure. Companies specialising in ERP start at R$ 40,000 for a system of medium complexity. We gather the requirements first and send an objective proposal, with scope and deadline in writing.
Why not use an off-the-shelf system?
In many cases off-the-shelf wins, and we say so when that is true. It loses when the business has exceptions the software will not accept, and then the operation starts adapting to the system instead of the other way round. The practical test is not price or feature list: it is how many things you do today that would have to become a workaround inside it.
Does the system issue real tax invoices?
Yes. We have delivered NF-e and NFC-e issuance integrated with SEFAZ, with thermal printer output, running in production for over a year. The invoice comes out of the same screen where the sale was recorded, which removes double typing and the errors that come with it.
Do I need an internet connection for it to work?
It depends on the format. When the operation cannot stop, we deliver a desktop application, which keeps working with the connection down and receives updates remotely once it is back. For operations that live in the browser, a web application tends to be simpler to maintain.
What about the data already in my spreadsheet?
It goes into the system during rollout, and that import is part of the project. Customers, products and stock balances migrate from the file you already have, with a joint review before the switch, so nobody starts out with the wrong numbers.
Who maintains the system once it is finished?
We do, on a maintenance subscription. CRATON does not deliver and vanish: our first client's system is on its fourth complete generation after about three years, and each one came from a need that appeared as the business grew.
